Roland Error Code, Meaning, Contents, Cause, Action.

 

Models: SP-300, SP-300V, SP-540V, SC-545EX, CJ-540, SC-540, SC-540EX, FJ-540, SJ-540, SJ-640, SJ-740, SJ-645, SJ-745, SJ-1000, SJ-1045

0001 Feed Motor Deviation Error  

Check the carriage motor, and check all the cable. Possible the life of the feed motor is gone 

 

0002   Sub CPU Communication Error 

Poor communication with Sub CPU "CAUSE: Sub Board does not work correctly Sub CPU does not work correctly. There is a bad connection between Main Board and Sub Board.

1) Check Cable Connection between Main Board and Servo Board

3)   Main Board Replacement SP-300 

 

0003   DIPSW model setting error           

Incorrect DIP SWITCH Setting on the Main "CAUSE: DIPSW setup error DIPSW defect Main Board defect            

1)        Check the DIPSW settings

2)        Replacement the Main Board

0004   Feed Motor Over current Error 1  

Big load is put on the motor movement instantaneously.

End User Condition

1. Media Jam

2. Adhesive on the platen

3. Adhesive on the media guides.

4. Media is stuck on the media core.

 

Mechanical Issue

​

1. There is a bad contact/cut-line in the X- motor/encoder cables.

2. Check feed motor hours.

3. Head/Servo Board is broken.

4. Defective motor driver on servo board

 

 Action

​

1.  Check for adhesive on platen and guides.

2. Check media supply area, free motion and check brake.

3. Check X- motor gear mesh.

4. Check set screws in all X axis gears.

5. Run feed aging, or aging with cutting

6.  If it fails during aging with cutting, cut jobs, sheet cut operation or media feed run-away, replace feed motor.

7. Check X motor and X encoder cable connections

8. Versacamm - Blown IC 2 near connector CN3-Change both X motor and Servo Board.

9. Replace Servo Board

0010   Scan Motor Deviation Error

End User Condition

1.  Media Jam or striking media guides.

2. Moving the Carriage by hand.

3. Carriage runs into an object.

4. Media is stuck on the media core.

 

Mechanical Issue

1. There is a bad contact/cut-line in the cable.

2. Drive wire attachment screw on cutter carriage is loose.

3. Low wire tension.

4. High scan motor hours

5. Bad or burned IC's on servo board

 

Actions

​

1.  Check wire tension and wire attachment screw.

2. Manually move cutter and print carriage check for obstructions on the linear rail or specific resistance.

3. Check for clicking from LH idler pulley, if yes, replace.

4. Check y motor mounting screws, and wire condition.

5. Y scan motor gear noise? Loosen attachment screws and  pivot scan motor away from main gear. Recheck for resistance on the linear bearing. 

6. Clean linear bearing, 3 in 1 light duty oil.

0101   Limit Position Error         

Limit Initialization in the Service Mode has no been completed.    

Limit Initialization in the Service Mode has not been completed.   

  1. Carry out Limit Position Initialize.    

 

0102   Head Lock Sensor Error

Even though the machine carries out the regular movement, the output of the Head Lock Synsor doesn't detect the print carriage   Head Lock Sensor does not work correctly or is broken.       

1)        Run sensor check in Service mode (print carriage home position) «H»

must turn on and off.

2)        Head Lock Sensor Replacement

3)        Check the mechanical backlash in the scan motor gears. 

 

0103   Limit Sensor Error  

Even though the machine carries out the regular movement, the output of the Limit Sensor does detect the cutter carriage home. Limit Sensor does not work correctly or is broken.       

1)        Run sensor check in service mode. "O" must turn on and off

2)        Limit Sensor Replacement

3)        Check the mechanical Backlash in the scan motor gears.  

 

0104   Cap Unit Protection Error   

Even though the machine begins to perform cap movement, the error occurs.   Capping unit binding, jammed up or down

Bad cap home sensor, Cap motor or belt problem, Cut-line or short-circuit of Cable and Flexible     

1)        Cycle power again or use pipe tool, check for binding, jammed.

2)        Check cap sensor, in sensor check mode. "c". Clean or replace.

3)        Motor pulley flange separated, belt came loose.

4)        Check wiring to cap motor and sensor.

5)        If it binds continuously with pipe tool, replace worm gear.

6)        Replace cap stepper motor   

 

0105   Tool Carriage Connection Error           

Machine fails to connect the Tool Carriage to the Head Carriage. Faulty tool carriage connection Loose Connection, lock assembly Fault of the Limit Position Initialize value. Limit Sensor does not work correctly or is

broken.         

1)        Check the mechanical Backlash in scan motor gear or drive wire.

2)        Lock Position Adjustment

3)        Limit Position and Cut Down Position Initialize

4)        Limit Sensor check or replacement 

 

0106   Tool Carriage Disconnection Error

Machine fails to disconnect the Tool Carriage from the Head Carriage. Limit Position Initialize, head carriage not locked Loose Connection in scan axis.

Disorder of Cap Motor Limit Sensor does not work correctly or is broken.

1)        Check the mechanical backlash in scan motor, or drive wire.

2)        Lock Position Adjustment

3)        Limit Position and Cut Down Position Initialize

4)        Limit Sensor Replacement   

 

0107   Unset up of the Linear Encoder 

Linear Encoder Setup has not been done. Linear Encoder Setup has not been done.

  1. Carry out Linear Encoder Setup. 

 

0108   Wiper Unit Protection Error (Height)  

Wiper Heights Mist Pad assembly sensor doesn't trigger.     Wiper Height Sensor issue Faulty Wiper Unit movement Cut-line or short-circuit of Cable and Flexible Cable

1)        Wper height sensor check, service mode "h". Clean or replace faulty

2)        Wiper Unit movement, check for binding

3)        Cable and Flexible Cable Replacement

4)        Bad wiper height stepper motor

 

0109   Wiper Protection Error    

Wiper assembly movement problem. Wiper Unit binding. Wiper Origin Sensor Poor timing belt tension. Cut-line or short-circuit of Cable and Flexible Cable         

1)        Clean wiper shaft to eliminate binding

2)        Check wiper origin sensor in sensor check mode "w".Clean or replac

3)        Retension the timing belt.

4)        Cable and Flexible Cable Replacement

5)        Wiper Origin motor replacement   

 

0110   Linear Encoder Error      

Linear Encoder misreads encoder strip.            Read error of Linear Encoder Read error of Encoder on Scan Motor side Wire is not attached properly to Head Carriage, wire slips, print only machine   

1) Confirm whether Encoder Scale is between the slit of Encoder Module.

2) Clean Linear Encoder strip and sensor.

3) Confirm Connection between drive wire and head carriage. Print only machine.

4) Confirm Cable Connection between Linear Encoder Board and Print Carriage Board.

5) Bad scan motor

 

0111   Tool / Crop Error 

This error occurs when the machine performs the Auto Crop Mark Detection or the Auto Print/Cut adjustment without the Tool/Crop Mark Sensor Adjustment. Tool / Crop Mark Sensor Adjustment has not been performed.     

1 ) Tool / Crop Mark Sensor Adjustment            

0120   Thermistor Error (Print Heater)

Thermistor of the Print Heater doesn't work correctly. Thermistor of the Print Heater is broken. There is a cut-line/short in the wiring of the Thermistor.       

1)        Check the wirings of Print Heater

2)        Thermistor Replacement   SP-300

 

0121   Thermistor Error (Dryer)

Thermistor of the Dryer doesn't work correctly  Thermistor of the Dryer is broken. There is a cut-line/short in the wiring of the. Thermistor. 

1)        Check the wirings of Dryer

2)        Thermistor Replacement   

 

0122   Thermistor error (Pre-heater F)

The abnormalities of a thermistor for Preheater F The thermistor wiring has short-circuited or come down. Checking the wiring Thermistor replacement  

 

0125   Heater Error (Print Heater) 

Print Heater doesn't work correctly. Temperature of the Print Heater is over 60 degree Celsius.            There is a cut-line/short in the wiring of the Print Heater.

Thermostat is broken. Thermistor is broken.    

1)        Check the wirings of Print Heater

2)        Thermostat Replacement

3)        Thermistor Replacement  

 

0126   Heater Error (Dryer)         

Dryer doesn't work correctly. Temperature of the Dryer is over 60 degree

Celsius. There is a cut-line/short in the wiring of the Dryer.Thermostat is broken.Thermistor isbroken.

1) Check the wirings of Dryer

3) Thermistor Replacement

 

0127   Heater error (Pre-heater F) 

The abnormalities of a heater The temperature of the pre-heater F has

reached 60 degree C or higher.   The heater wiring is abnormal.

The thermo regulator is abnormal (not work).   Heater check Thermoregulator check.

 

NOTE 1

1. Firmware version

2. What timing does the error occur? Does it occur when the machine performs any specific operation?

3. Frequency of the error

4. Does it occur when printing some specific data?

5. Does it occur under some specific condition? (kind of RIP, version or printing mode and so on)

6. When did the error start to show up? Is it after doing something to the machine? If it is a problem of the hardware, it can be solved by replacing the Main board.

 

LINEAR ENCODER SETUP fail.

 1. Dirt/Scratch on the ENCODERSCALE.

2. Dirt/Scratch on the ENCODER MODULE.

3. ENCODER SCALE is not between the ENCODER MODULE.

4. Backlash of the CARRIAGE MOTOR GEAR and the DRIVE GEAR.

5. Fixation between the CARRIAGE and the CARRIAGE WIRE.

6. Bad Contact in the cables.

NOTE 2
1. Check whether the Head Lock Sensor works correctly or not.

2. Please check the mechanical Backlash or loose with the scanning axes. When you still have Internal error even if you check above points, please check steps 3 - 6 below. This error could also be happened when the Tool carriage disconnection error occurs.

3.Check the mechanical Backlash or loose with the Tool Carriage part.

4. Please perform Lock Position Adjustment.

5. Please perform Limit Position and Cut Down Position Initialize.

6. Please replace the Limit Sensor
